Strawberry Tomato Salad with fresh Basil and Burrata
Ingredients
1 cup of of ripe strawberries
2 heirloom tomatoes or 1 cup cherry or both
1 ball fresh burrata
A handful of fresh basil leaves
2 tbsp good quality olive oil
Flaky sea salt
Fresh cracked black pepper (optional)
Warm focaccia, sliced for serving
To make:
Slice your strawberries and tomatoes into quarters or medium sized pieces.
On a serving plate, scatter the sliced strawberries and tomatoes, letting them overlap naturally.
Place the burrata in the center. Gently tear it open just before serving so it spills into the fruit.
Drizzle generously with olive oil. Sprinkle flaky sea salt over everything — especially the burrata. Add torn basil leaves and a touch of cracked pepper if you’d like. Pair with warm focaccia, or enjoy as is. Ideal for any brunch, lunch menu, garden party or a just because Tuesday afternoon.
Nicole’s Notes:
Heirloom tomatoes or flavor bombs are my favorite, any color, and don’t be afraid to season those tomatoes as seasoning makes all their juices come out and taste incredible.
